We don’t have a story that’s a hundred years old. Our story is one of passion and love,” says Filip Mertens, founder of Victor & Charles. “Love and passion for life. Love and passion for Champagne. And love for my father Charles and grandfather Victor, two people who shared the same passion as I do for the good life and Champagne. A shared passion for flavors, both in the bottle and on the plate of our beloved gastronomy. Our young brand, founded in 2016, has quickly found its place in the finest restaurants and wine shops.”
The excellent alliance between Filip Mertens and Nicolas Bauget, a 5th-generation champagne producer in Epernay, has ensured that craftsmanship and a vision for quality are crucial at all levels for the result of our champagnes. The vineyard consists of 12 hectares that, in fact, encircle Epernay.
Soon, our first vintage blanc de blancs was on the podium among the great houses in Exclusive Magazine. Gilbert & Gaillard immediately awarded us a gold medal for Le Brut, and many other high scores were granted to us for our quality.
The press has also noticed our remarkable journey. Our prestige cuvée, Cuvée Karma, was named ‘the most beautiful champagne bottle in the world’ by the French newspaper Le Figaro.
